Everyone diagnosed with schizophrenia should be offered some kind of therapy.1
The main kinds of therapy offered are medications and talking therapies.1
There are also things you can do that can help you stay generally healthy, physically and emotionally. These are lifestyle changes, and you can read more about them in the other treatments section
You might also be offered more practical learning therapies like occupational therapy or art therapy. These can help you express your feelings, or learn skills to cope with daily life.1
The treatments offered will be different for every person with schizophrenia. This is because your needs may be different to someone else, even if they seem similar to you on the outside.
