What is schizophrenia?

Schizophrenia comes from two Greek words, “Skhizein” (to divide, separate, pull apart) and “phren” (the mind, or thoughts). 1

It’s a mental health condition that can cause a lot of different symptoms. These can be different from person to person, and one person’s symptoms can also change and become more or less severe for periods of time. 2,3
